Witnessing each other.
I found the second walk or performance from this unit to be interesting simple because i did not get nearly as many reactions as i thought i would. it was something i was prepared for but not expecting. I feel this really adresses how we are getting stuck in our own boxes and not as ready to openly interact with our fellow people. I feel technology is playing a big role in this as well. we are less and less willing to reach out and actually speak to people and it is weird to me. people prefer texts over calls and i know many people who prefer self checkouts or order kiosk so they do not have to talk to anyone. I feel this exercise really pointed that out. I also feel like the walk from the last module related to this as well because of how we put ourselves into a cocoon we are closing our self off from the rest of the world. it is something that is quite sad to see happening and it something we are slowly seeing more and more of. I feel there needs to be more self expression and individualism when entering public now instead of trying to blend into the crowd.
I really connected with your thoughts here. It’s so true! This exercise highlighted how much people avoid interaction now, even when something out of the ordinary happens. I agree that technology plays a big role in that disconnection, and I liked how you tied it back to the last module’s idea of cocooning ourselves. Your point about needing more self-expression and individualism in public really stuck with me, it's a powerful reminder to show up more intentionally.
